SOIL-THERM EQUIPMENT, INC has been supplying the industry with the finest remediation equipment since 1990, but the roots go back much further than that.  Mark Sujata, Founder and President of SOIL-THERM EQUIPMENT, INC, is uniquely qualified in this position. Mr. Sujata’s extensive background in science, environmental compliance, aerospace, and cutting edge combustion technologies gives SOIL-THERM many more advantages over  the competition. He has learned that continuing to advance our products’ performance has been the key to making SOIL-THERM’s equipment the very best in the industry.

Upon completion of degrees in Chemistry/Biology, and a Masters Degree in Environmental Sciences, Mr. Sujata landed a job overseeing the Environmental Compliance Program for a large aerospace company that developed advanced space and defense-related flight engines.

AEROSPACE    COMBUSTION

In that role, Mr. Sujata gained a w or ki n g knowledge of every aspect of environmental compliance from water discharge regulations to hazardous waste storage and disposal laws.  Working closely with regulatory agencies on all environmental matters and innovative waste minimization solutions, Mr. Sujata achieved a 95% reduction in hazardous waste disposal costs within a 4-year period.

Upon being transferred to the Aeropropulsion Group, Mr. Sujata worked with world-renowned experts in high speed flight engines and advanced aerospace combustion principles applied towards practical and engine flight simulation testing.  This group led the world with such  Mach 3+ accomplishments as the design and development of ramjets for the SR-71 Blackbird engine, the Blackbird D-21 Drone, Advanced Strategic Air Launched Missile (ASALM, Mach 4+) and a Mach 8+ scramjet engine for the National Aerospace Plane project.

Mr. Sujata formed a new group to develop these technologies for environmental and waste cleanup applications.  Under his supervision, successful initial research resulted in an award and funding by the California Dept of Health Services’ prestigious “Hazardous Waste Reduction Grant Program” for the building and completion of an advanced research laboratory and demonstration test study. Numerous articles, publications, and press coverage resulted from the many exciting accomplishments achieved during this period.

For over 15 years, SOIL-THERM has continued to set new standards in the industry.  Our latest Micro-THERM thermal systems offer performance that is unmatched for its size, offering a super-small remediation system for very space restricted locations. Our line of Micro-, Mini-, and Compact-THERMs are loaded with deluxe features such as noise enclosures, Variable Frequency Drives, “Pressure Side Dilution Air Blowers”, stainless steel piping and knockout, and operational combustion capabilites that we’ve been told are unmatched and far less expensive to operate than any other equipment manufacturer.  And our latest Mobile-THERM systems offer incredible mobile capabilies for SVE, DPE, and groundwater treatment - - setting a whole new standard of performance and processing capabilities for pilot testing, short-term cleanups, and fast response.

As President of SOIL-THERM, Mr. Sujata continues to conduct ongoing R&D and design integration of these technologies towards ever more efficient combustion processes for lower fuel operating costs, higher processing flows, and smaller more powerful system sizes.   Towards that end, SOIL-THERM continues to be  the premier thermal equipment manufacturer with the most diverse and proven  equipment solutions specifically for remediation and environmental marketplaces.

X-43A Scramjet Firing, 3/27/04

SOIL-THERM congratulates NASA Dryden for their successful launch and achieving Mach 7 with the latest X-43A supersonic combustion ramjet (scramjet)!  This marks the first time a scramjet has achieved these speeds in actual flight.  Like SOIL-THERM Jet-Therm oxidizer systems, the scramjet scoops air (oxidizer) into the extremely turbulent flame region while injecting hydrogen fuel (SOIL-THERM uses natural gas or propane) enabling best fuel efficiency and maximum combustion efficiency to reach these speeds.  The X-43A scramjet is able to maintain flight using low Oxygen concentrations at 100,000 feet - - maintaining its flame and thrust at speeds over twice as fast as a speeding bullet.  This successful scramjet flight is a huge breakthrough in the history of flight!

   LATEST NEWS!

SOIL-THERM wins ENVIRONMENTAL BUSINESS JOURNAL Award!
In January, 2004, SOIL-THERM EQUIPMENT, INC was awarded the Environmental Business Journal’s prestigious Technology Merit Award “for developing and deploying thermal and catalytic oxidizer systems with the new Jet-Therm combustion burner process technology, which was demonstrated this past year to achieve virtually 100% destruction of VOC’s from soil-vapor-extraction, multi-phase-extraction, and chlorinated emissions control applications.”

Micro-Therm has arrived! SOIL-THERM is proud to announce our latest equipment integration of the ‘award winning’ Jet-Therm combustion technology - - Micro-Therm.  At only 3-ft x 3-ft, its believed to be the smallest complete SVE blower and oxidizer system on the market!  This system allows operators to clean up sites in  the most space restricted locations. And the benefits are numerous - - flow rates to 300 cfm, fuel consumption is low, installation is simple, space required is minimal, extraction rates are impressive, and impressive operating flexibility at any SVE cleanup site.

“We currently own three SOIL-THERM mobile dual phase thermal systems, custom built to our specs. These systems provide impressive processing rates, high destruction efficiencies, and are extremely reliable. We’ve used the others, SOIL-THERM is the best and uses at least 50% less fuel!”.  Tom Waller, PE, Principal Engr, Holguin Fahan & Assoc.

“SOIL-THERM designed and built a Mobile-THERM system that was impressive to look at and operated using much less fuel than all others we’ve used. The finest equipment at a great price.” Steve Diamond, EnviroTRAC

“It has been my field experience that  SOIL-THERM oxidizer systems are  as much as 50% more energy efficient than the other conventional oxidizers.  Our SOIL-THERM mobile dual phase oxidizer system has been extremely reliable and versatile. Its custom design achieves excellent operation over a wide range of flows and concentrations”. Dan Louks, Vice President, GSA Engineering

“I operate over 30 SVE thermal systems from all manufacturers.  Based on my field experience, I have found that SOIL-THERM systems are much more energy efficient and outperform the others by far ! Thery’re also highly reliable and have excellent uptime”. Darren Azarian, Principal, Integral Engineering Services, Inc.
